The topic is Supervised Visitation. The learning objectives are: 1) Ability to assess which families would benefit from supervised visitation, 2) Understanding the importance of neutrality by the visitation supervisor, 3) What to consider when planning to start a supervised visiting program, 4) Understanding what information is needed when making a referral for supervised visitation, 5) Understanding what information to expect from a supervised visitation provider, and 6) What to consider when selecting a supervised visitation provider. First, CJP's next internet training is scheduled for April 8 at noon. The training is on parent rights and will be presented by Martin Guggenheim, JD. One hour of CLE has been approved by the WSB. Please see attached flyer for additional information. Second, CJP has made available Community Training Grant opportunities. The deadline to submit an application is April 23. For additional information, please see the attached application/instructions. Third, CJP is soliciting nominations for the Children's Justice Project Excellence Award. In 2008, the CJP established the Excellence Award to recognize an individual involved in the child welfare/juvenile court system who has made significant contributions to the system and who is dedicated to improving the lives of children and families. The award is presented at the annual Children's Justice Conference. Nominations for the award are solicited statewide and are due May 5. I have attached the award description and nomination form.
