Vernellia,

Happy New Year!

We have a writing course for our first year students taught by an adjunct who
supplements in class instruction with online learning activities. I am not
sure how much or what is taught online, but students have an opportunity to
practice what they are learning about the structure of language. It is not
just an lack of knowledge of "grammar" but a lack of knowledge or awareness
of structure that is the greatest impediment to their ability to communicate
effectively.

Would you like me to forward your email to her? I realize this is not a
podium course, but methodologically it might fall within your definition of a
'blended course."

Subject: [Saltassessmentworkinggroup] Looking for Blended Learning Syllabus
and/or Faculty Teaching Blended Learning Course

I am looking for syllabus for "Blended Learning" or Hybrid courses. A
blended learning approach combines face to face classroom methods with
computer-mediated activities to form an integrated instructional approach. In
the past, digital materials have served in a supplementary role, helping to
support face to face instruction. For example, a blended approach to a
traditional, face to face course might mean that the class meets once per
week instead of the usual three-session format. Learning activities that
otherwise would have taken place during classroom time can be moved online.

If you are teaching or have taught a "blended learning" course please
contact. If you know someone in your school could you forward this email to
them.
