Dear HeinOnline subscribers,
Based on the wonderful comments we have received, the addition of the Code of Federal Regulations (CFR) content in HeinOnline ( http://heinonline.org <http://heinonline.org/> ) has been welcomed at many subscribing institutions. We are always pleased to hear from you when we add content that increases the value of the product in your library. Thank you for your positive comments!
I would like to take this opportunity to mention a few items to you...
1) The complete CFR is available in HeinOnline for the period 1938 through 1983. Some researchers have mentioned to us that they were not able to see the 1963 through 1976 CFR content when using the "Title and Part Quick Locator" feature in HeinOnline. However, this content IS available in HeinOnline, but until we electronically index the 1963 through 1976 CFR content to the Part level (which will occur before year-end), researchers should use the "Browse By: Bindings" feature to access content from the period 1963 through 1976.
2) In my last content announcement of October 31, 2006 ( <http://heinonline.org/front/front-06update.html> http://heinonline.org/front/front-06update.html) I mistakenly advised you that the CFR content added approximately 780,000 pages to HeinOnline. In reality, the CFR content added exactly 1,643,991 pages of new content to HeinOnline. This was by far the largest one-time content release in the history of HeinOnline! My apologies for the error in my last announcement.
3) We have also expanded the highlighting feature mentioned in a previous announcement (scroll to the September 7, 2006 announcement from this page: http://heinonline.org/front/front-06update.html to view the earlier message). With this expansion, when conducting a full-text search, your search terms are now highlighted in the text of a document in the Federal Register Library, <?xml:namespace prefix = st1 ns = "urn:schemas-microsoft-com:office:smarttags" />CFR, U.S. Supreme Court Library, U.S. Presidential Library, Philip C. Jessup Library, and the European Center for Minority Issues collection. This was accomplished through the re-processing of the Optical Character Recognition (OCR) text in these collections. Not only will the highlighting feature aid you in locating the text on a page quicker, but the re-processing of the OCR text provides more accurate search results.
Once again, thank you to those who have sent comments about the new CFR content in HeinOnline. As always, your comments and suggestions are encouraged. Please feel free to send them to marketing at wshein.com.

Sincerely,
