Today we are pleased to announce the release of 325,000 new pages of content into HeinOnline ( http://heinonline.org <http://heinonline.org/> ). With this release, HeinOnline has reached the 21 million page plateau!  This release also brings HeinOnline's Law Journal Library to 900 titles, and the Legal Classics collection is nearly 550 titles.  By year-end, the Legal Classics Library will surpass 1,000 titles!

The new content is listed below for your convenience.  The FREE Cataloging Aid ( http://washburnlaw.edu/heinonline/) has also been updated to reflect all of the new content.  MARC records for the titles in the Legal Classics Library are available from this site as well (simply look in the upper-right hand corner of this web page to find the link to the Legal Classics cataloging records).

In addition, the new web servers, which were previously announced last week (Daniel Rosati's message is listed below for your convenience about the new web server upgrade) should provide all researchers with a dramatic increase in the search result speeds.  Personally, while searching the word "Tasini" in the full-text search box within the Most-Cited Law Journals Library, I was truly amazed at how quickly the results appeared.

I've included Mr. Rosati's original message below for anyone who may not have seen it.  Any subscribers utilizing a proxy server to access HeinOnline should review this message and contact him with any questions.

Later this week I plan to send another message to this list-serv informing everyone of some exciting new enhancements that have been in process for quite some time.  These new enhancements will once again provide a better research experience for all users of HeinOnline!

Attention: HeinOnline Subscribers Using A Proxy Server

PLEASE PASS THIS ON TO YOUR TECHNICAL SUPPORT STAFF

We recently invested a substantial amount of time and resources to upgrade web servers in order to provide HeinOnline users with faster search results.  This upgrade is essential in light of the increasing content and usage of the product.  Once the upgrade takes effect, which is expected before the end of this month, HeinOnline researchers will notice better server response times.  Of course, various factors may influence the overall performance, but we are confident that the results will be much improved.

Most HeinOnline subscribing institutions will NOT need to do anything to take advantage of this upgrade.  As long as those institutions utilizing a proxy server followed proper procedures when they began their HeinOnline subscription, the upgrade will pose no connectivity issues.

In order to ensure that your proxy server will point to our new servers, please make sure that you have a wildcard reference to HeinOnline in your proxy settings (this should be " *.heinonline.org ").  Once again, HeinOnline has always recommended that you use this wildcard entry, but in some instances we have found that is not always the case with some institutions.  If you have any other entries, such as " www.heinonline.org ", " heinonline.org ", or " hawk.heinonline.org " your proxy server will not point properly to our new servers. 

Once again, the ONLY entry you will need both before and after the server upgrade is " *.heinonline.org ".
