Subject: inquiry

Hi Rick,

I'm a political science graduate student at UVA, and I'm looking into what it
might take to investigate patterns in the scheduling of executions. I saw
your website, and thought you would probably know if the data I'm looking for
exists or could be collected.

Specifically, for each execution since 1977, I want to know (a) when the
initial sentence was handed down, (b) who was responsible for scheduling the
execution, and (c) when the execution was officially scheduled.

Any light you could shed on these questions would be a huge help.

Best,

Kenneth Lowande
