Saudi Arabia executes Pakistani man for murder
Saudi Arabia executed a Pakistani man on Tuesday for stabbing to death a
Saudi national, raising the number of executions in the kingdom to at
least 27 this year.
Khaled Abdul-Ghaffour murdered the Saudi man after an argument, the
official news agency SPA said.
The execution was carried out in Qatif region on the Gulf coast.
Convicted murderers, rapists and drug traffickers are subject to the death
penalty in Saudi Arabia, usually by public beheading. The kingdom executed
34 people in 2006, 36 in 2005 and 86 in 2004.
