PAKISTAN:
2 more Indians face death sentence in Pakistan
Apart from Sarabjit Singh, 2 more Indians have been sentenced to death in
Pakistan, Radhey Shyam, who was among the 435 Indians repatriated on
Monday through the Wagah Border check post said here on Tuesday.
Talking to UNI at his residence here, he appealed to the government to
take up the cases of the other two Indians also.
He also appealed to the media to highlight their cases.
Shyam claimed to have met Sarabjit 2 years ago in a Lahore jail where he
was also lodged.
Kirpal Singh of Gurdaspur and Kashmir Singh of Hoshiarpur were also facing
death sentence in Pakistan, he added.
Both Kirpal and Kashmir have been lodged in a Lahore jail, Shyam said.
While Kirpal has been sentenced to death for allegedly causing a bomb
blast, Kashmir has been given death sentence as Pakistan believe him to be
an Indian spy.
Kashmir is an old man and was given death sentence 32 years back, he
added.
Shyam said other Indian prisoners in the Lahore jail had asked him to
highlight their plight and also bring to the government's notice the cases
of death sentences to Kirpal and Kashmir when he returned to his country.
